Saving Money On InkSaving money on ink becomes far more important when the cost of ink is high. For sublimation, that is most definitely the case. Cartridges must be engineered specifically for the printer (or just a few printers) and every time you purchase a cartridge, you are purchasing this perfectly engineered cartridge which often includes a computer chip, and then, it is filled with ink. Wthin a printer line, for the most part, all those cartridges use the same ink. You can refill your CartridgesTo start, we began by refilling our cartridges, but they weren't designed for that purpose, and aside from an awful mess, the sponges inside the original cartridges began to cause troubles after a few refills. However, this did work well, and there are refillable cartridges made for just this purpose. You can use Continuous Ink Supply SystemsThen we discovered CISS (Contnuous Ink Supply Systems). These are simply tanks that feed through a substitution cartridge in your printer. For the most part, CISS are transparent (or transluscent) so you can see your ink level. Furthermore, you can refill the tank on the CISS by just pouring from your Ink Supply into the tank. CISS offered several advantages over the refillable cartridges.
It's a simple fact that bulk ink is cheaper, and CIS Systems are a much more efficient way to manage ink.
